Apartment building damaged by fire
Several residents were displaced after a Feb. 2 fire damaged an apartment building on Apperson Drive.
First arriving crews discovered heavy flames and smoke on the first and second floors of the building.
Winder Engine 1, Engine 2, Ladder 1, Rescue 1 and BCFES Med 6 responded.
Five of the building’s eight apartments were occupied at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries.
The preliminary investigation ruled the cause of the fire as human error. Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause.
