A Winder woman called 911 after she noticed $60 missing from her wallet. The woman said she kept the wallet hidden in a pillow in her bedroom. When she returned home from work, she discovered the money had been taken.
The woman told deputies that she had planned to go clubbing, but now could not go because someone had stolen her cash.
The woman said she suspected her uncle was responsible. The woman’s parents, siblings and three other people also live at the residence.
When asked why she suspected her uncle and none of the other occupants, she explained that her uncle “is a crackhead.”
Man accidentally hits co-worker with forklift
Barrow Regional Medical Center staff called the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office when they realized a patient they were treating had been assaulted.
The patient said the injuries were the result of a workplace accident.
When the deputy asked the man to explain, the man said he accidentally bumped into a co-worker with a forklift and, in return, the co-worker accidentally punched him in the mouth.
The man did not want to press charges and refused to provide the name of the co-worker.
The man was not seriously injured.
Drunk man ‘smells bacon’
A West Virginia man was arrested after falling asleep in a stranger’s car.
A deputy was dispatched to Breanna Court in response to a trespassing complaint. The homeowner advised that a white male was sitting on his car.
Before the deputy arrived, the white male, later identified as Daron M. Combs, 29, of 7301 Rgt. Frk. Wilson Creek in W. Va., climbed into the homeowner’s Ford Expedition and fell asleep.
When the deputy opened the door to the Expedition, he noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. He tried several times to wake Combs, but was unsuccessful. The deputy then pulled Combs out of the vehicle.
Each time the deputy attempted to ask a question, Combs would only say that he smelled bacon and the deputy must be a pig. Combs was placed under arrest for public intoxication and criminal trespass.
Before the deputy left the scene, a neighbor advised that Combs had also come to her house. Combs knocked on the woman’s door and when she asked who he was, Combs claimed to be her brother-in-law.
