Accused child molester transferred to Barrow jail
After months of waiting, Barrow County Sheriff’s deputies finally had the opportunity to serve a wanted child molester with numerous warrants.
Last October, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office charged Edward Pershing Hunt, 34, with two counts of family violence rape, four counts of family violence aggravated child molestation and ten counts of family violence child molestation.
The warrants were obtained as a result of a cooperative investigation with the Hoschton Police Department.
Hunt was taken into custody by Hoschton Police last October and has been detained since that time in the Jackson County jail. Barrow County authorities had been awaiting Hunt’s release from the Jackson County jail in order to serve the Barrow County warrants.
An investigation into Hunt’s activities was launched in July 2009 after a 15-year-old female sought help from the Department of Children and Family Services.
The victim informed authorities that Hunt had been repeatedly forced her to perform sexual acts and had raped her on two separate occasions. According to the juvenile, the abuse began when she was only six years of age. The victim said Hunt threatened to sexually abuse her sister if she refused to cooperate.
Hunt is currently awaiting a bond hearing in Barrow County.

Funny how this article was printed without stating that this person was released from Jackson County Jail because charges had been dropped.

I think he was transferred from Jackson to Barrow, so he wasn't necessarily "released."
