Barrow County Emergency Services recently announced the creation of a training committee to streamline the delivery of instruction to all personnel.
Training officer Deputy Chief Bryan Bullock will head the newly created committee.
“When you are looking at all that goes into training for this department it is a lot of work,” Bullock said. “With that in mind, we decided to create a training committee to make sure the best possible training is available for every employee.”
The committee will create fire and emergency medical class material for a website the department uses for training. Classes will include officer development, team building exercises, EMS skills training, continuing fire education and hazardous material drills. Committee members will assist in providing state mandated instruction and will also help maintain training records necessary for firefighter recertification.
Committee members include Lt. Rob Nowakowski, Lt. Richard Carignan, Lt. Scott Dakin, acting Lt. David Drake, firefighter Bill Etheridge, firefighter Virgil Sizemore and firefighter Clarke Graves.
“This training committee is going to be very pivotal in providing the highest quality training for all the department’s personnel,” Bullock said. “This will allow us to offer all Barrow County citizens the highest level of service from our department.”
