A 25-year-old Auburn woman became violent after being asked to leave her mother’s home.
Amber Jeannette Smith, of 348 Austin Way in Auburn, was cursing and acting belligerently when her mother told her to leave the house.
According to the mother, Smith grabbed her causing both of them to fall to the floor. Smith landed on top and then punched her mother in the head. The mother said Smith kicked her, hit her with a child’s metal chair and slammed her head into the carpet multiple times. The attack took place in front of the victim’s mother and two-year-old daughter.
The mother escaped to her bedroom and asked her older daughter to call 911. Before police arrived, Smith tried to break down her mother’s door with a step stool. The officer noted there were several holes in the door caused by Smith striking the door.
Smith left the scene before police arrived, but later returned. She was charged with battery, criminal trespass and cruelty to children.
