A Winder man has been arrested in connection with a Jan. 6 drive-by shooting on Wright Street.
A Winder woman and her friends narrowly escaped serious injury after Ricky Trayton Davis, 19, of 218 Third Avenue B, reportedly fired several shots at a West Wright Street residence.
The woman said Davis was angry that she had not bought pills for him as he had requested. The woman and her friends later received several calls and texts from Davis. In one message, Davis threatened to shoot at both the woman and her friends.
On Jan. 6, the woman received another call from Davis. After hanging up on him, she looked out the window and saw Davis’ black Mitsubishi Eclipse. As the car passed by, she heard four to five gunshots and saw muzzle flashes coming from the vehicle.
When police arrived, they found bullet holes in the living room window as well as in several walls within the house. According to the report, the bullets barely missed striking the woman and the other occupants of the living room.
Davis was charged with five counts of aggravated assault, two counts of obstruction and possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes
