The following cases were heard in Barrow County Magistrate Court on Jan. 5, 2010 with Judge June Davis presiding. Those charged and their sentences are as follows:
• Dessau Samuel Andrews, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and contributing to the delinquency of a minor: charge changed to disorderly conduct, 16 hours of community service.
• Christina M. Ashcraft, control of animal, ID and rabies inoculation, animal repeatedly at large: bench warrant.
• Beth Ann Bower, violation unlisted: plea of no lo contendre and fine of $70.50.
• Charles H. Burkett, five counts control of animal, four counts ID and rabies inoculation, two counts restraint of dog on property and one count nuisance or vicious animal: $957 in fines, $846 in restitution and 24 months probation.
• Justin Michael Coleman, underage consumption of alcohol: plea of no lo contendre, $340.50 fine, 12 months probation, scrapbook 30 days of newspaper articles and write a 500 word essay on how alcohol affects the body.
• Zachary Haywood Evanson, underage consumption of alcohol: plea of not guilty – court date set for Jan. 19, 2010.
• Jessica N. Gilleland, deposit account fraud: guilty plea, $140.30 restitution, $75 in fees and court costs, $207.50 fine, financial responsibility class and 12 months probation.
• Gregory Lane Hayes, underage consumption of alcohol: demanded jury trial.
• Chris Michael Jones, control of animal: bench warrant.
• Stephanie Payton Lovelace, underage consumption of alcohol: case continued until Jan. 19, 2010.
• Mark Shelton Loving, nuisance animal/barking: guilty verdict, $138 fine, $194 in restitution and 12 months probation.
• Lisa Oliver, deposit account fraud: plea of no lo contendre, $140 fine, $96.21 in restitution, $75 in fees and court costs, 12 months probation and financial responsibility class.
• Sarah Janay Toole, underage consumption of alcohol: $340.50 fine, 12 months probation, probation fee of $100, scrapbook and write a 500 word essay.
• Jonathan G. Pace, disorderly conduct: not guilty plea, continued to Jan. 26, 2010.
• Socanna Peou, two counts control of animal and two counts ID and rabies inoculation: $417 fine.
• Mystical Starr Peterson, theft by shoplifting second offense: guilty plea, serve 20 days.
• Behname Pierce, control of animal and animal repeatedly at large: bench warrant.
• Rachel Gillian Pierson, underage consumption of alcohol: $340.50 fine, 12 months probation, probation fee of $100, scrapbook and write a 500 word essay.
• Andrea Beth Rittelmeyer, underage consumption of alcohol: $340.50 fine, 12 months probation, probation fee of $100, scrapbook and write a 500 word essay.
• Stephanie R. Camp Rumer, control of animal: bench warrant.
• Chad Maurice Stephenson, underage consumption of alcohol: plea of no lo contendre, $340.50 or 40 hours of community service before Jan. 22, 2010, 500 word essay and scrapbook.
• Cleve Oliver Stewart Jr., underage consumption of alcohol: $340.50 fine, 12 months probation, scrapbook and write a 500 word essay.
• Chelsea Nicole Sutton, underage consumption of alcohol: $340.50 fine, 12 months probation, probation fee of $100, scrapbook and write a 500 word essay.
• Christopher Scott Swancey, underage consumption of alcohol: $340.50 fine, 12 months probation, scrapbook and write a 500 word essay.
• Elhadji Boubacar Thiaw, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and contributing to the delinquency of a minor: charge changed to disorderly conduct, 12 months probation and 16 hours of community service.
• Rebecca Bryant Thompson, commercial vehicle in residential area, outdoor storage violation and violation of junk vehicle ordinance: plea of no lo contendre, 12 months probation, $346.50 fine and 30 days to bring property into compliance.
