Bramlett looks to pass BOE chairman's torch

Bramlett told his fellow BOE members during Tuesday night’s meeting that that it had been a pleasure serving as chairman for the past six years, but he is ready for someone else to take the post.

“I appreciate the confidence the board has shown in me, but I would appreciate you considering someone else,” Bramlett said. “It is a quite a burden. I would be glad to assist someone else.”

The BOE is scheduled to select a chairman and vice-chairman for 2010 at Thursday night’s meeting. Vice-chairman Rickey Bailey would be a candidate for the post, although any member of the board could be chosen.
