One charged in lottery ticket theft
A Statham resident was charged with shoplifting after several lottery tickets were reported missing from an Atlanta Highway business.
Courtney Wright, 18, was charged in connection with the Dec. 31 incident.
In a separate incident, police arrested Lavarus Young, 22, of Athens after investigating a domestic dispute on Railroad Street. Young was charged with battery, affray and criminal trespass.
In other incidents, Statham Police investigated a Jan. 3 theft on Providence Road. Two washing machines and a dryer were reported missing.
Police are also investigating a Jan. 2 burglary reported on Bulldog Drive. A cable box and blankets were stolen.
On Jan. 4, a two car traffic accident was reported on Hwy. 316 at Hwy. 211. One person was slightly injured, but refused treatment.
For the week, Statham Officers issued seven traffic citations and two warnings.
