Man with 15 warrants arrested

The bondsman called central communications and advised that the fugitive, Jerry Dakhota McCraine, 23 of 3728 Gravitt Road in Duluth, was at an apartment complex on Melrose Street within the City of Winder.

Accompanied by several Winder police officers, deputies located McCraine standing outside of an apartment.

Deputies took McCraine into custody after confirming that he had two active warrants in Barrow County. Once McCraine was transported to the detention center, officials determined there were 13 additional warrants for his arrest.

In Barrow County, McCraine was wanted for failure to appear and probation violation. The City of Winder had also issued three warrants against McCraine for probation violation relating to charges of marijuana possession, obstruction and disorderly conduct.

McCraine had two active warrants out of the City of Auburn for failure to appear. The original charges were two counts of criminal trespass and one count of public drunkenness.

Gwinnett County authorities had issued a total of six warrants against McCraine for failure to appear on charges of battery, simple battery, family violence battery, obstruction of a 911 call, criminal trespass and interference with government property.

There were also two warrants against McCraine issued by DeKalb County for aggravated assault and family violence battery.
