An Auburn man returned home just in time to prevent a burglar from stealing items from his Chippewa Run residence.
The man had just arrived home from work and was walking to his front door when he heard a noise inside his house.
Before entering the house, the man retrieved a gun from his vehicle. Armed, the man returned to the residence. Just as he entered the house, the burglar ran out the back door and into the woods.
The victim was unable to determine the race or age of the offender.
No items were taken during the burglary.
Other incidents investigated by Auburn Police this past week include:
• financial transaction card fraud reported on Timberridge Court. A woman reported that fraudulent charges totaling $2,612 had been made to her Visa debit card.
• financial transaction card fraud reported on Crest Point Court. A man’s monthly bank statement showed two fraudulent transactions made with his Visa card.
• theft by taking on Clover Drive. A father accused his son of stealing 92 Lortab pills to trade for methamphetamine.
