An Apalachee Church Road resident returned home from work last week to discover his residence had been burglarized.
According to the police report, the burglar(s) used a large piece of asphalt to shatter glass in a back door.
A Heritage .22 caliber revolver, a Browning 12 gauge shotgun and a Winchester 12 gauge shotgun were taken from the master bedroom of the home.
The burglary remains under investigation.
Other incidents investigated by Auburn Police this past week include:
• damage to property on Atlanta Highway. A car vehicle window was broken when a rock was accidentally kicked up by a piece of machinery being used by inmates on a work detail.
• shoplifting on Atlanta Highway. A man stole two hams from Ingles supermarket, but returned them when confronted by the manager. The shoplifter then left the store. The manager said he did not wish to press charges.
• unruly juvenile on Blackberry Lane. Police were called to mediate a dispute between a mother and her juvenile daughter.
• domestic dispute on Main Street. A son complained to police that his mother would not allow his girlfriend and her children to move into her house.
