Suspect flees, abandons vehicle

An officer on patrol noticed a green Chrysler Sebring convertible with a tan top traveling west on May Street. According to the report, the officer had information from a reliable source indicating that a suspect wanted for a parole violation was inside the vehicle.

The officer began following the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop at the intersection of Capitol Avenue and Elm Street. When the officer activated his blue lights, the vehicle rapidly pulled away from the officer’s patrol car.

The officer discovered the vehicle a short time later in the middle of Tuggle Street with the driver door open and the engine still running. The occupants were not located.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
