Two men are currently being held in the Barrow County Detention Center on charges related to a Dec. 16 kidnapping.
Antonio Alvarez, 26, of 1452 Baron Court in Stone Mountain, and Alejandro Hernandez, 38, of 5427 Rails Way in Norcross are charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes and terroristic threats and acts.
The charges were filed after a 38-year-old Gwinnett County resident was taken from his place of business in Barrow County. The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms conducted an undercover operation and were able to secure the victim’s release less than 24 hours from the time of the kidnapping. The victim was not harmed in the incident.
The name of the victim has not been released due to safety considerations and the ongoing investigation.
