Statham Police investigating counterfeiting
Statham Police are currently investigating two incidents involving counterfeit bills.
Both incidents were reported at a business on Atlanta Highway and involved counterfeit $10 bills. A total of three bills have been recovered so far, all bearing the same serial number.
According to Statham Police public information officer Cpl. Buddy Hardigree, both incidents appear to be connected.
Other incidents investigated by Statham Police this past week include:
• domestic dispute on Hammond Road. Catherine Jean Johnson, 27, of Statham was charged with family violence battery in connection with the Dec. 6 incident.
• burglary on Ventura Street. Kahlil Bruce, 22, of 122 Nile Street in Monroe, was charged with burglary and theft by taking in the Dec. 4 incident.
For the week, Statham officers issued a total of 18 citations.
