The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Barrow County that resulted in three fatalities.
State patrol official Lt. Paul Cosper said Thursday that the results of a test to detect for alcohol in the bloodstream of the driver may now take about 8-10 weeks to come back from the crime lab, or about mid-September.
The crash occurred around 10:50 p.m. on Ga. Hwy. 82, about one-tenth of a mile west of Holsenbeck School Road.
Killed in the crash were David Michael Varnum, 53, John Willis Collins, 61, and Wanda Jean Collins, 54. All three victims were from Winder.
A 1995 Chevrolet Camaro being driven by Varnum was headed eastbound on Ga. Hwy. 82 when the driver crossed the center line and struck a 2001 Ford Taurus head-on, driven by Collins. There were no other injuries.
