Rebecca Gregory and Amanda Cope got to experience life on track’s big stage last week. The Winder-Barrow High School duo competed at the Class AAAA state track meet in Albany for the first time in their varsity careers last week and should both benefit from the experience. “North East Georgia Regional Airport” is no more – at least in name. The Barrow County Airport Authority Tuesday night shucked the “regional” moniker in favor of the new name, “Barrow County Airport.” The name change comes four years after the previous authority changed the name from the original “Winder-Barrow Airport” in an attempt to attract more corporate and business users. WINDER—Mary Frances Crider, 77, died May 16, 2009. A native of Abbeville, S.C., she formerly lived in Daytona Beach, Fla. And was the daughter of the late John Robert and Lois Armethine Pearman Wilson.
