Pinner steps down as GM at WIMO

Scott Pinner, who has served as general manager of Big Stick Radio WIMO in Winder for the past year and a half, has stepped down from his position. Pinner's last day with the station is Monday.

"It is just time for me to move on to new challenges," Pinner said. "It has been an absolute joy working with WIMO and being the play-by-play announcer for the local teams. I wish (station owners) Greg Smith and Andrew Hess all the best in the future." [Full Story »]

School are set to reopen Tuesday as Barrow County digs out from Sunday's snow storm. But some area residents are still without power after trees knocked down power lines in the area.

Although hard hit, Barrow was spared the level of damage seen in Athens-Clark, Jackson and Madison counties where 5"-9" of heavy snow.
