Adelle Hammond Ferguson, 88, of Winder, died Sunday, June 29, 2008. Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Franklin and Florence Wall Hammond. BOC approves road work project

Several area roads will soon get a face lift. The Barrow County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the expenditure of $308,000 to patch certain county roads in advance of resurfacing by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The repairs are required as part of GDOT’s 2008 Local Assistance Road Program.
