BCSO investigating series of burglaries
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating multiple burglaries and attempted burglaries.
On November 1, a real estate agent called deputies after discovering the front door of a Payne Point Drive residence had been kicked open.
The front door facing, kitchen floor, walls and refrigerator were damaged during the burglary. The damages totaled approximately $2,100.
A residence on Carl Bethlehem Road was burglarized on November 5. The owner reported over $3,750 worth of missing and damaged items. Items stolen included copper wiring, copper pipes and 30 mule plows.
The sheriff’s office is also investigating a burglary at a Lisa Circle residence. Approximately $2,400 in jewelry and $3,000 in cash was stolen from the residence. The burglars also caused $1,200 in damages to the house.
On November 11, a riding mower was stolen from a shed on the grounds of Barber’s Creek Church in Statham. The door to the shed was pried open and damaged during the burglary.
Burglaries were also reported on Glenn Jackson Road, Tanners Bridge Road and Justin Duke Court. Two attempted burglaries on Glenn Jackson Road and Chancey Court are also under investigation.
