The next meeting of the Barrow Preservation Society is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 17.
The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss upcoming projects designed to increase awareness of the society and its mission.
The Barrow Preservation Society will focus on protecting historic resources throughout Barrow County. The society aims to raise public awareness of the value of historic resources and encourage citizens to recognize the importance of revitalizing local communities by capitalizing on distinguishing characteristics and features.
Currently, the society is focusing its efforts on the preservation of the Granite Hotel, one of the Barrow County's most endangered local resources. The society is in the process of preparing a proposal for the City of Winder regarding the hotel.
The meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m. in the courtroom of the Historic Barrow County Courthouse in downtown Winder.
