A Winder man called the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office to report the theft of a PSP gaming system and accessories.
The man had recently advertised the items for sale on Craigslist. After a Nigerian man offered to buy the items, the Winder man shipped the game system to Nigeria before waiting for payment to clear his PayPal account. The payment was never deposited.
The gaming system and accessories were valued at $110.
Winder Police solve burglary
Winder Police have arrested two men in connection with an October 24, 2009 burglary at a Dunahoo Street address.
Alex Sheroy Brown, age 18, of 1408 Ericas Point Drive and Jack Wilburn Troutman Jr., age 17, of 153 Sweetgum Lane, both of Winder, were arrested on November 6.
The men are accused of stealing approximately $20,000 worth of jewelry.
Gear stolen from Barrow-bound scouts
An Atlanta Boy Scout troop was forced to improvise last weekend after thieves stole a trailer containing their camping gear.
The scouts from troop 467 had stored over $5,000 worth of equipment in the trailer in preparation for a weekend camping trip in Barrow County.
The thieves stole the trailer from a church parking lot.
Atlanta Police are investigating the theft.
Subdivision hit by vandals
Several residents of Briarwoord subdivision will have to replace or repair mailboxes after vandals struck on October 30.
At least 14 mailboxes on Briarwood Road were damaged and one pumpkin was smashed. There was no other damage reported and no other streets within the subdivision were targeted.
