Man arrested for vigilante activities
A Winder man called the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office last week after being assaulted at his home.
According to the report, the victim allowed Kenneth Ryan Lee, age 48, of 1845 Schafer Street in Dyersberg, Tenn. to enter his home accompanied by Lee’s girlfriend.
The girlfriend asked to use the restroom leaving Lee and the victim alone. Once Lee’s girlfriend closed the bathroom door, Lee reportedly told the victim “I got a good mind to kill ya.”
The victim alleged that Lee punched him and hit him on the forehead with a radio. The victim accused Lee’s girlfriend of taking his wallet.
The responding deputy noted that the victim had visible injuries on his face including a laceration on his upper lip.
The victim advised the deputy that Lee was enroute to an Arcade address. Arcade Police responded to the address and detained Lee until the deputy arrived.
Lee informed the deputy that his girlfriend of five years claimed that she had been raped by the victim. Lee denied being a vigilante, but said he did “not condone a man raping a woman.” Lee said he drove across the county and hit the man in the face.
Lee said his girlfriend did not report the rape because she had been raped by a Jackson County deputy in the past. He said he then persuaded her to come with him to “talk” to the victim. Lee admitted he was glad that he did not carry out his original plans. When the deputy asked what those plans entailed, Lee responded, “I was going to cut his nuts off.” Lee said he drove from his home in Tennessee with the intent to cut off the victim’s testicles and “beat his ass.”
Lee was charged with battery and burglary after entering the victim’s residence with the intent to commit aggravated battery. Lee’s girlfriend was not charged due to the necessity to investigate the rape allegations.
