An Auburn woman contacted police to report that her valuables had been stolen from her son’s residence.
The woman, who occasionally stays at her son’s house, advised that she had hidden a .38 caliber Taurus revolver, three gold rings, a pair of diamond earrings and ten gold necklaces in a pillowcase.
The woman said she had placed the pillowcase in a box and hid it under a pile of clothing in a locked bedroom. When she returned to retrieve the items, the pillowcase and valuables were missing.
The woman said she suspects a friend of her son may have stolen the items. The son denied that any of his friends had accessed the locked bedroom.
The missing items have an estimated value of over $4,300.
