An Auburn man was arrested after calling 911 and hanging up the phone.
When officers responded to the 40 Van Street address, an unidentified male answered the door. When asked about the 911 call, the man said the homeowner, Timothy Dispasquale, age 46, and his wife had placed the call. The man led officers to the patio where Dispasquale, his wife and a friend of the family were gathered.
The officers immediately noticed a strong smell of burnt marijuana. Dispasquale denied knowing if anyone had been smoking marijuana. Officers then noticed a lit marijuana cigarette on the patio.
When officers advised that everyone would be arrested if no one admitted ownership of the joint, Dispasquale claimed the pot was his. Upon questioning, Dispasquale admitted having more marijuana hidden in his garage in a tool box. He then showed officers where the stash was located.
Dispasquale was cited with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and released at the scene. The police report did not indicate why Dispasquale called 911.
