The City of Winder will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed 2009 fiscal year budget on May 19.
The hearing will be held in the council chambers of the Winder Community Center, 113 East Athens Street, at 5 p.m. Changes to the license/occupational tax and fire district tax will also be discussed.
The preliminary budget is currently available for review at City Hall, 45 East Athens Street, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The proposed $35 million budget represents a 2.7 percent increase over last year’s operating costs. The new budget also includes $11.4 million in capital expenditures.
Council will vote on the 2009 budget on Tuesday, June 3, at its regularly scheduled meeting.
