Man arrested after breaking into apartment

A Statham man was arrested last week on charges related to an October 3 incident on Wise Court.

Landeeze Sims, age 20, of Statham was charged with battery, aggravated assault, criminal trespass and six counts of third degree cruelty to children after forcing his way into an apartment and attacking two people.

According to Statham Police, Sims struck one victim and threatened another with a knife. He was arrested on October 6.

Other incidents investigated by Statham Police last week include:

• domestic dispute at a Sixth Street residence.

• theft by taking on Broad Street.

• damage to a mailbox at a Providence Road address.

• traffic accident on Jefferson Street at Railroad Street. There were no injuries.

Statham Officers issued a total of 11 traffic citations and two warnings last week.
