Winder police lieutenant Kristi Bratcher has been selected as the state certification team leader assessor. Chief Stanley Rodgers presnted Bratcher with a certificate of recognition at Tuesday night's city council meeting.

Rodgers praised Bratcher for her numerous awards and commendations including her role in the arrest and prosecution of a serial rapist in 2001.

Bratcher began her career as an undercover narcotics officer in Ohio. Since transferring to the Winder police department, Bratcher has served as the first female member of the city's honor guard, a P.O.S.T. instructor, CALEA manager and a member of the crisis intervention team. Bratcher received her masters degree from the police command college.
