In anticipation of the annual Battle of Barrow football game, the 2009 Tailgate Barrow will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday.
The event will be to celebrate Barrow County and its county schools, organizers said. The celebration will take place at the Barrow County Professional Development Center at 179 West Athens Street.
Food will be available along with items such as inflatables, a dunking booth, drawings for prizes, a tricycle contest, the twist contest, a hoola-hoop contest, basketball, football, golf and more. Those attending will be able to meet the Winder-Barrow High School and Apalachee High School football players and cheerleaders.
Both high schools’ bands will perform with the event being aired live on local radio and television.
This year marks the second annual Tailgate Barrow event.
The WBHS Bulldoggs and AHS Wildcats will meet on the gridiron Friday night at Apalachee’s R. Harold Harrison Stadium with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
tailgate barrow was very fun and i did not know that our cheerleading team was that good. from what i saw it was very up and jumpy type of cheerleading we did very good. now apalachee is always known for the best football team in the whole county and good for track and swim team but thats okay....we the doggs got this we in the game of being more successful...thankyou and have a nice dayy
