Statham Police are investigating the theft of a four-wheeler from a residence on Third Street.
The thief or thieves took the vehicle out of gear and pushed it out of the owner’s yard. After rolling the four-wheeler to the bottom of the hill, the thieves attempted to start the vehicle but discovered the battery was dead and abandoned the vehicle.
The four-wheeler was recovered the next day. The vehicle ignition was damaged during the theft attempt.
Due to heavy rains during the night, police were unable to recover any physical evidence.
Cpl. Buddy Hardigree said police have no leads at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
On Friday, police were dispatched to a Noah Lane residence to investigate a report of harassing phone calls. No arrests were made.
Statham Police issued five traffic citations and three warnings last week. Officers investigated one motor vehicle accident. The two car collision occurred on Commercial Drive. No injuries were reported.
