A Lawrenceville man was arrested last week after breaking into a house to go “mattress diving.”
Winder Police were dispatched to a Partridge Trail address in response to a report of suspicious activity.
Upon arrival, police found a male standing outside a vacant residence smoking a cigarette. The male subject informed police that his friend was inside the residence.
During a search of the premises, police located Richard Lee Farmer, 18, of 370 Farmers Court in Lawrenceville, hiding in a closet in the basement.
Farmer told police he and his friend were at the residence to go “mattress diving.” Farmer explained that “mattress diving” involved jumping off the roof of the house onto a mattress on the back porch.
Farmer was arrested for unlawful entry.
