Police investigating a narcotics tip found more than just drugs at a Summit Ridge address.
Narcotics investigators responded to 1618 Summit Ridge in Auburn after receiving information indicating there was marijuana at the residence.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with two juveniles. Both admitted skipping school that day. Police instructed one of the juveniles to call the homeowner, Phillip Lloyd Dean, 40, and request that he meet with officers at the residence.
When Dean arrived, officers asked permission to search his home. Dean consented and, upon questioning, admitted having marijuana in the kitchen and in a safe in the master bedroom.
During the search, officers located the marijuana, “sexual” photos of an unidentified female and video tapes showing Dean drinking and smoking marijuana with juveniles.
Dean was arrested at that time for possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
After identifying some of the juveniles in the seized video tapes as Apalachee High School students, investigators went to the school to question the juveniles. Four juveniles admitted drinking alcohol and using marijuana at Dean’s residence.
As a result, Dean was subsequently charged with 12 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
