A Winder man was arrested last week after threatening to kill his wife and children.
Barrow County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Rosewood Circle in response to domestic dispute involving an armed man.
Upon arrival, deputies found William Landon Wilder, 31, of 542 Rosewood Circle, Winder, sitting outside his house.
After being frisked for weapons, Wilder walked away from the deputies and lay down on the driveway. According to police reports, Wilder appeared to be intoxicated.
The victim, Whisper Wilder, told deputies she was taking a shower when she heard Wilder arrive home “yelling and cussing.” Ms. Wilder said she did not think anything of it at the time because she knew Wilder was drunk.
When Ms. Wilder stepped out of the shower, Wilder pointed a Glock 22 at her head and threatened to kill her and their children.
Ms. Wilder wrestled the gun away from Wilder, but he then grabbed a knife and threw it at a window. Ms. Wilder said she then grabbed Wilder and threw him out of the house.
Witnesses at the scene corroborated Ms. Wilder’s account of the incident. One of the witnesses described Wilder as drunk and “raising all kinds of ruckus.”
Wilder was arrested and charged with pointing a gun at another and terroristic threats and acts.

And Anon -- I agree with you about the HR and Director of Road and Bridges. I also remember good ole Norma Jean, asking the board to raise her pay right after she attended a training session and got to talking to other HR directors. Danny Boy told her he would "get with her later" which I took to mean, I'll give you a raise on the down low. (Keeping an act, action or some other piece of information a secret.)
It is true that the "little people" are being the victims, but the "high rollers" should not be allowed to(when you are taking $$$ not rightfully earned) "continue to steal" from the count.
Taxpayers should not bear the cost for wasted dollars, due to who you know*****
Here is some food for thought:
The Director of Roads & Bridges, is a very arrogent, unprofessional and should not be allowed to treat "the public" as he does. Needless to say he is a "waste of tax dollars."
The Director of Human Resources, is very unprofessional, unqualified, bullies her co-workers and should have been one of the first to go.
Oh Yea, remember how she "fought" to give the Director of Roads & Bridges a raise, when other employees were being laid off and were forced to took pay cuts.
Where is the justification for that?
