budget. The Judges in this county just handed out probation to 64 more
people, the majority of which are already on probation. So does probation
work.....not if the probationers are re-offending.
Barrow Journal..Probe deeper and find out how many of the cases are plea
deals. Barrow DA's office is notorious for plea deals including probation
just to show how many "cases" they clear. If you look you will find the
truth!
There are at least 2 people on this list with "aggravated assault" charges
that received 12 months probation. Aggravated Assault is the same as
"attempted murder" in other states and is a FELONY in this state. So how
did these individuals receive a sentence worthy of a misdemeanor? Easy,
DA's office let these individuals plea to a lesser offense to clear the
case.
DUI and Hit and Run..again no big deal apparently. I'm floored at this response from our judges..OMG Just goes to show crime does pay in this county.
There is BLACK and WHITE as to why the DA and Sheriff need larger budgets
We all know trials are expensive, but what is our future worth?
Lets give this idea a chance.
Abolish Probation and Parole, make them do the time in jail or prison. For everyday they are incarcerated its one more day they are not out making babies they can not pay for and have no intention of raising. Its population control at its simpliest.Parents who are in and out of jail have kids who follow in thier footsteps. An abundant supply of dumbazz is present in our society,. This would help.
You do the crime, you do the time.
OR:
Keep Probation and Parole but use them as intended. You are given a chance to prove you have learned from your mistake, I mean ONE chance. A 10 year sentence, you Parole out after 2 yrs, 6 months later you violate your parole by committing another crime, the door slams shut and does not open again for 7years and 6 months.
