High school ACT and SAT test scores fell for the third year in a row in Barrow County this year.
The tests, which are used as an entrance exam by universities and colleges, are widely watched and are considered key measures of high school academic quality.
In Barrow County, both Apalachee High School and Winder-Barrow High School had composite results on the ACT that fell below the state and national averages.
On the SAT, both AHS and WBHS’ scores fell this year. AHS had the steepest composite drop from 1474 last year to 1426 this year. WBHS fell from 1478 to 1434.

Yes the area does have a lot of parents who cannot read or write but it does not give the teachers the right to blame their failure to teach properly on the parent when from my personal experiance they do not care if they get them in the correct classes or not!
