A detention officer at the Barrow County Detention Center has been suspended without pay after drug investigators found him inside a Hoschton residence during a search.
The officer’s name has not been released, but Sheriff Jud Smith said the sheriff’s office is conducting an internal investigation as well as a criminal investigation.
Investigators as well as the officer were both surprised during the July 23 search of 1003 Freeman Johnson Road.
The search was ordered by the sheriff’s office after an undercover drug purchase at the same location a week earlier.
The home’s owner was not present during the search but is facing multiple drug charges.
The search turned up methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription medication, according to a press release.
For other crime and court news, see the July 29 issue of the Barrow Journal.
Jud, it time to clean up our drug situation.
Another super good job.
Quit wasting taxpayer money on this exercise in futility.
You cannot declare war on an inanimate object (hemp, coca, etc.)

And, make no mistake, Barrow, despite its beer-guzzling redneck underbelly, is God-lovin' country. Remember this is the benighted county that blew a hundred thousand bucks in a feckless attempt to make people look at the 10 commandments in the courthouse.
So, folks that subscribe to the notion that a book that says a preternatural being rewards you if you believe in Him and punishes you when you don't are going to be tickled pink at drug raids. The more the better.
Oh, wow. Bigoted and racist. This puts you on the same level as the extreme members of the religions you claim to hate. There are obnoxious, vocal, and extremist minorities in every group.
I dislike abuse of power by organized religion as much as any sensible person, but this sort of thing helps no one. You certainly aren't opening any minds.
Can you define either of them (without look at Webster's first)?
Do you know anything about the tenets of the Muslim religion?
Ever read even a smattering of the Koran?
One of their tenets is that if they can't convert you, then they have to kill you.
"Christian" bible-thumpers aren't much different.
Both bunches are raving fanatics, utterly convinced that their particular fairy tale is the only correct way. One difference is that muslims actually observe more of their silly crap, while
bible-thumpers are caught out as hypocrites on a daily basis.
It's no surprise that Barrow county voted more than 60% for Palin, a phony, an idiot, and a devout "christian" who is certain that Jebus rode into Jerusalem atop a dinosaur.
I think you're just a troll, so I'm not going to waste any meaningful amount of time writing up my own definition for your benefit unless you can prove otherwise.
And I voted for Obama. But I guess you'll just use a different stereotype now.
inter-netiquette-wise, haven't you?
In any event, to refresh your recollection, my original comment was devoted to the subject at hand. YOU were the one who took it in a different direction by accusing me of being a "bigot" and a "racist." I requested your definition of those words.
You were unable or unwilling to comply.
Yet I'm "just a troll."
Then, i guess you're a fool to joust with one, huh?
Socially aceptable drugs, stealing souls and polluting minds.
You are most welcome to leave this county and this state. You're not stuck here, are you?
(unless you are posting from jail?)
Why so bitter? Have you failed in life?
It's never to late for -You know Who-
Personally, I don't think the war on drugs has much to do with religion. Illegal drugs are illegal because of their severe negative impact on people and on society. Drug use negatively impacts everyone around the user in some way. That's why we should continue to try and eradicate the problem.
A person is not guilty of a crime if, by entrapment, his conduct is induced or solicited by a government officer or employee, or agent of either, for the purpose of obtaining evidence to be used in prosecuting the person for commission of the crime. Entrapment exists where the idea and intention of the commission of the crime originated with a government officer or employee, or with an agent of either, and he, by undue persuasion, incitement, or deceitful means, induced the accused to commit the act which the accused would not have committed except for the conduct of such officer.
In other words Mrs. well educated female entrapment laws do exist
a convicted felon, with pot, meth and pills

without a badge and see how tight the cuffs
go on and how long you sit in jail without
a phone call. And can someone in legit LE
tell me exactly what charges a non badge

would face?
