Local, state and federal law-enforcement officers on Monday conducted a large roundup of Barrow County drug suspects, making 41 arrests.
A total of 100 arrest warrants were issued for in connection with drug or domestic violence charges, and investigators are searching for the remaining 59 suspects, according to a sheriff's office press release.
The arrests were on top of another 80 suspects arrested during a six-month investigation by the Barrow County Sheriff's Office and the Auburn Police Department that involved nearly 200 purchases of illegal drugs. More than $525,000 in illegal drugs were confiscated during the investigation.
MONDAY RAIDS IN BARROW CAST WIDE NET

Obama administration has declared an end to the the so-called "war on drugs," but Barrow & Ga disregard the memo. Hint: phony/fraud McNasty LOST. Drugs should be legalized.
Fairly simple.
One patrol officer ends his shift, gets out of his car, and the other officer gets in the car and starts his shift. In other words, if you have 50 officers working 12 hour shifts, you only need 25 patrol cars. I guess in your theory we need another 25 cars for "spares" to sit at the old courthouse at the end of shift changes.
Show some fiscal responsibility instead of resorting to personal attacks. Obviously the taxpayers are paying your salary or you would not be so defensive. I did not attack you or your department personally. There are ways to cut from departments without cutting people. If you are unwilling to sacrifice some spare cars instead of potentially cutting people, then you reap what you sow.
During the school year, during the time children are being picked up by school buses, I drive by the bus yard and I see "spare" buses. If those buses have already finished their routes and are back in the bus yard, why doesn't the school district get rid of them and double up on buses? One driver finishes his/she route - they go start another or turn the bus over to another driver.
But here is the reason each officer has their own car and it makes sense to me. I'm short, my husband is tall. I'm a neat freak, my husband isn't. Every time he gets into my car, he moves the seat, mirrors, and leaves trash. It takes a good 5 minutes to clean out the car and readjust things to my liking. The same thing with officers. But in addition to that they have extra gear that is theirs and theirs alone. This equipment is kept in the car trunk.
Do a ride along - Call the sheriff's office and explain you don't understand why officers have their own car and you would like to do a ride along OR stop by and let them do a show and tell for you
Another thing you need to consider...some of the vehicles that are now "spares" were once assigned to the personnel the Sheriff's Office lost. They have several vacant positions that they are not filling do to the hiring freeze...
Can't conduct their "illegal" activities when there are cops around!!!
1) the element of surprise -- surprise we found you!
2) It would be hard(er) for you to run
3) Less likely for the officers involved to get hurt.
And finally, if you hadn't done anything wrong - they wouldn't be busting into your home at three in the morning.
