One of the primary goals for Apalachee High School head football coach Shane Davis going into spring practice was to find the best positions for his players to contribute at.
With spring practice now over, consider it mission accomplished.
“Getting kids in the right spots to be able to contribute was a key for us,” Davis said. “That will help us going into the summer.”
The Wildcats held their spring scrimmage last Friday and will now move into the summer portion of offseason workouts.
“Our numbers in spring were good,” Davis said. “They were probably as high as we’ve had going into summer workouts.”
The AHS football team will begin three-day-week workouts next Monday. On June 15, AHS will host a five-school camp featuring linemen and skill players.
Beginning June 22, AHS will also host the Wildcat Youth Football Camp.
“June is always pretty busy,” Davis said. “We will have back-to-back camps this year so that will really add to it.”
