The event held in downtown Winder on tax day was one of many held across the country in protest of out-of-control government spending.

Nothing scares the political elite more than an well informed public, who are not afraid to exercise their rights.

It's also deluded to assume that these pitiful little protests, derided by all save Fox "news," will have any influence at upon Congress. Let me know when tax laws are altered or fiscal policy is changed owing to the silly "tea party." The Democrats control Washington, D.C. Get over it an move on.

Locally, only 100 cretins crawled out of the woodwork for the foolishness.
Nationally, it was ridiculed at every major media outlet save one. Canada even poked fun; and, you know you've hit bottom when Canada makes fun of you.
Bottom line is: it accomplished nothing. Zero.

As for precisely how much tax that I paid, well, I'm not going to retrieve the 1040. But, if you paid $54,000 in taxes, then you have me beat by a longshot.

Again, the focus here is (or should be) on the moronic "tea party." Someone referred to one such gathering as an "unhinged mob." The sparse turnout in Barrow might not have been a "mob," but the silly bunch sure is pixillated.
Maybe you work for the IRS and fear these gatherings as a threat to your existence. The Fair Tax likely frightens you. Nobody likes to get shafted by a big-spend government that keeps raising taxes on the people that contribute to the existence of this nation. Freeloaders don't count....sorry Arthur!! The media reluctantly covered the tea parties on tax day and expressed their frustration by mocking the events and the people attending. The Tea Parties didn't exactly get fair 'journalistic' treatment. Thank you for your fair treatment and covering the news with truth and consideration.
