WBHS hires new basketball coach

Winder-Barrow High School has selected David Sokol as its new varsity boys basketball coach.

Sokol was officially approved by the Barrow County Board of Education Tuesday night. He was the head coach of the Class AAAAA War Eagles this past season. South Forsyth competes in Region 7-AAAAA.


Sokol will replace Eli Connell who stepped down after six years directing the Bulldoggs. Connell led WBHS to a regular season subregion championship this past season.

The Bulldoggs lost only once during the regular season in subregion play but were upset in the quarterfinals of the Region 8-AAAA tournament.
