A 26-year-old Auburn mother was arrested last week for getting drunk and leaving her toddler in a parked car while the city was blanketed in snow.
Mary Vilayvahn Vorasith of 316 Carter Road was arrested March 2 and charged with cruelty to children and public drunkenness. She was still in the Barrow County Detention Center as of Tuesday.
According to an Auburn Police Department report, police learned what had happened after she called police to report her child missing. Vorasith told the responding officer that her stepfather had taken her 2-year-old daughter and had not brought her back.
Vorasith was “heavily intoxicated” while talking to police, the report states.
When questioned by police, the stepfather said he had taken the girl after noticing that she was in the car 30 minutes after he arrived home.
“The child was freezing cold at that time,” the officer wrote.
Police officers then contacted the Department of Family and Children’s Services and left the girl with an aunt, reports said.

I hop that DFCS take this child away from a mother, who don't value her kids life but value beer more is sad please take that kid away from her and find a home that would value his life!
