Winder police from Feb. 16-23 arrested 23 people – nine of them for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Those arrested on DUI charges included the following:
•Brandon Keith Avery of 1935 Shoal Creek Road NW, Monroe, DUI and failure to maintain lane.
•Marcelino Hernandez Bautista of 837 Georgetown Dr., Winder, DUI, no driver’s license and stopping in the roadway.
•Domingo Fabian Garcia of 837 Georgetown Dr., Winder, DUI and no driver’s license.
•Christopher Anthony Hamm of 163 Walker St., Winder, DUI, open container of alcohol in vehicle, and failure to maintain lane.
•Elmer Octavio Herrera of 106 Oak Grove Ct., Cornelia, DUI and underage possession, purchase or consumption of alcohol.
•Thomas Leo Hogue of 64 Wade St., Winder, DUI and driving while license is revoked or suspended.
•Ricardo Mendieta, 45, of 462 Matthew School Road, Winder, DUI, open container in vehicle, habitual violator, driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, and failure to drive within a single lane.
•Savannah Lorraine Nicholson of 510 Pin Oak Dr., Bethlehem, DUI, underage possession, purchase or consumption of alcohol, license not on person, and failure to maintain lane.
•Eugene Darrell Scott of 1685 Atlanta Hwy., Statham, DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude arrest, speeding, stop sign violation, failure to maintain lane, and out-of-jurisdiction warrant.
Killing and injuring far more folks than drunk drivers.
But, your post is saying that you don't think drunk drivers are a problem that needs to be dealt with. Are you sure that is what you want to say?
