A lone gunman robbed a Subway restaurant near the county’s industrial area off Bankhead Highway Tuesday night and left the restaurant with more than $450 in cash.
According to a press release, the young robber walked into the restaurant at 444 Atlanta Hwy. NW shortly before 9:30 p.m. and ordered a sandwich from the only employee on duty.
“As the clerk opened the cash register, the suspect produced a silver-colored handgun and demanded the cash,” states the press release.
The robber drove away in a tan Chevrolet Monte Carlo or a Ford Thunderbird. The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s. He was clean-shaven and wore a black jacket, blue jeans and a stocking cap.
