Winder Police Department Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Terrapin Lane in Winder on Thursday Jan. 7, at approximately 4:30 p.m., in reference to the resident hearing someone in his garage.
The resident believed someone was trying to break into his home and told the officer there was marijuana on his front porch that belonged to someone who was at his home earlier. The resident was identified as 34-year-old Mitchell McDonald of Maple Park Drive, Winder and the officer noted that McDonald appeared to be somewhat disoriented. The officer noticed that the front door of the home appeared to be forced open and called for additional officers to assist in clearing the residence.
Additional officers responded and upon making entry they located three other individuals inside the home, 21-year-old Brianna Nicole Mullins of Terrapin Lane, Winder, 24-year-old Dalton Crimm of Flanagan Mill Drive, Auburn and 26-year-old Eleanor Deckle of Terrapin Lane, Winder.
Deckle told police that she owned the home and that McDonald was her boyfriend. While clearing the residence for persons, police observed narcotics and firearms in plain sight. A search warrant was obtained for the residence based on those items seen in the home and the search yielded additional narcotics, drug paraphernalia and firearms. One of the firearms is believed to be stolen.
