OBIT: James Sweat

A native of Barrow County, he was the son of the late Marion and Mattie Anthony Sweat. He was a member of Appalachee Baptist Church and a retiree of The Georgia Department of Transportation. Mr. Sweat was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Anthony Sweat; and a daughter, Sarah Nell Grissom.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Sweat; sons, J.T. Sweat, John Sweat and Howard Sweat, all of Winder; a sister, Grace Clark, Atlanta; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 30, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home. Burial will be in The Appalachee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
